I.T. by Design Begins Rebranding with New Logo Design

I.T. by Design has recently undergone significant re-branding efforts. We started this process by first addressing our logo. Isral Duke, I.T. by Design’s Graphic Designer, played a significant role in determining the color and design of the logo. Below is his explanation of how the logo came into existence, the meaning behind the color choices, and much more.

“The logo is a collaborative effort between several I.T by Design officers and myself. Their inputs were invaluable for incarnating the core values, the essence of I.T. by Design, as inspirations for me to begin the discovery-development phase. The things that I kept in mind as I worked are:

“At I.T. by Design, the design of our systems enable our clients to profit because they get relevant, vital knowledge, from the information they assemble, entrusting their data to the technological ecosystems we construct.

“The logo mark, the symbol part of the logo, is several things. It is first an abstraction of a person sitting at a computer, as this is one of the ways in which we do the work we contribute to our clients’ missions. It is a subtle hint at the Microsoft Office “cloverleaf,” appropriate because I.T. by Design is a Microsoft Certified Partner. Further, it’s also a point of convergence, where the orange “plus” and the word “Design” touch. Finally, it’s an entry point for our clients’ data to be distributed into paths of meaningful information for their partners, and their clients.

“The “plus” is the overlapping of technology in our designs for our clients. The blue form that touches the orange “plus” is also a vessel into which knowledge may now reside.

“The “plus” is appropriate for a couple of reasons. It’s a dialogue we hold with our clients, as we continue to support them even after the software is written. Our “plus” is a cognitive cousin to the medical cross, fitting because some of our clients come to us for help because a past vendor’s solution has injured their workflow.

“Looking at the logo type, or, the “word” parts of the logo, one will see more meanings. Our name, in full, is “Information Technology by Design,” so it’s necessary for the “I.T.” to be immediately recognized as an abbreviation for “Information Technology” rather than a new technology quasi-acronym, or worse, simply the word “it.” (Yet, “it” is a common term of frustration used by nontechnical people used when they describe our competitors’ assemblages.) Another reason the “Design” part of our name touches the symbol is because the software we write is crafted around the logistical needs of our clients, rather than forcing them into stiff thinking just to conform to pre-existing biases (a sign that the best solution hasn’t been deployed).

“We are proud of our systems, we are confident that our contributions will maximize any organization’s potential, and this is why our colors are so bold. Our confidence is the orange, yet, our business nature is a conservative blue, because we are aware that business come to rely upon the trustworthy systems that we build.”
